The Darling Bones were a class act on the London gig scene and had quite a cult following. Sadly life has separated the band but I look back on this unconventional project fondly.

A branding exercise revealed that the band enjoyed juxtaposition - bittersweet, life, death, the beauty of a rose and the prick of a thorn. Mischief and intrigue were other themes that came to light.

To show music as a form of art, I wanted to ensure the brand expressed creativity. As the industry is so saturated, originality was also key.

I mixed up the themes from the branding exercise – death (skull), life (flower), sting (jellyfish) – and arrived at my dancing jellyfish, skull flowers.
